Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal data ShopWiser collects when you visit this website or join our waitlist, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you have. We've tried to keep it short and in plain English.
Who we are
ShopWiser is run by ShopWiser Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15872895), registered office 15 Greyswood Street, London, SW16 6QW. We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice.

What we collect
When you join the waitlist:
- Your email address (required).
- Your first name, if you give it.
- The supermarkets you usually shop at, if you choose any.
- Whether you've asked for news and updates, and the date and time you signed up.
When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used only to run, secure and troubleshoot the site.
We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and our font is served from our own site rather than from a third party.

We will never sell your data or use it for anyone else's marketing. Every email we send has a way to unsubscribe.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers ("processors") who handle data only on our instructions and under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Supabase, which hosts our waitlist database. Your waitlist details are stored on servers in London, UK.
- Vercel, which hosts this website and processes the technical data described above.
Some of these providers are based in, or may access data from, the United States. Where personal data leaves the UK, it's protected by the UK government's adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We may also share data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist details: until 12 months after ShopWiser launches, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first.
- News and updates: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. After that we keep a note of your email address only so that we don't contact you again.
- Hosting logs: for the short period our hosting provider keeps them, normally no more than 30 days.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it if it's wrong;
- ask us to delete it;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests;
- ask for your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time. This doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
Children
The waitlist is intended for people aged 16 and over. If you believe someone younger has signed up, contact us and we'll remove them.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll email people on the waitlist.
